Today marks the 40th anniversary of Mazda’s first rotary engine powered vehicle. Mazda has been the only supporter of rotary powered cars in the last few decades and as of the end of April 2007, Mazda has manufactured approximately 1,970,000 rotary vehicles.

TheCarConnection.com's spies caught the redesigned Mazda 6 running on a secluded side street, within spitting distance of Ford's Detroit engineering operations.
This is the most complete, most revealing Mazda 6 prototype spotted to date. This new Mazda 6 appears larger than the current model, confirming earlier sightings of cobbled-up test mules which hinted at added length and width for the second-generation model.
