Someone sent GM's Bob Lutz a photochopped Corvette ZR1 decked out in Michigan State Police graphics and featuring the prerequisite light bar, bumper guard and awesome blacked out wheels. Without regard to notifying the PR department who were baffled by the incoming calls from new media outlets, Bob uploaded the image to GM's Fastlane Blog.
Corvette's ZR1 was spotted yesterday at the Nürburgring. Reports that the weather has been warm and dry over the previous days has brought out Team Corvette and their supercharged 638 hp Corvette ZR1, this time dressed in red. Eyewitnesses speculate that GM may have been looking for a lap time as he "spotted a helicopter chasing something that sounded very V8 and awfully supercharged..."
The first Corvette ZR1 to hit the dyno was this Cyber Gray car which had all of 30 miles on her. The bone stock SAE adjusted number came in at 530 rwhp and 508 ft-Lbs of torque. After making some tuning adjustments, we see the SAE adjusted numbers rose to 567 rwhp and 532 ft-lbs of torque.
Chevrolet Dealer and Corvette Collector Dave Ressler was in Bowling Green yesterday to accept delivery of the first retail 2009 Corvette ZR1. Ressler is well known for buying the 6.2 liter supercharged Corvette at January's Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction for $1 million. The special one of a kind Corvette features a unique VIN and will be the only one painted LeMans Blue.
The Fireblade concept was designed by independent stylist Idries Noah, and is meant to be a sharp new set of clothing for the already terrifying Corvette ZR1. This 1970 LT-1 ZR-1 Corvette Coupe sold for $102,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction in March 2008. The ZR-1 package inluded a 350 ci 370 LT-1 V8.

Competition is always stiff and for engineers of the respective nominees, bragging rights for winning the world's best engine is the crowning achievement following years of development and testing.
Last month as the Corvette ZR1 was making tracks around the Nürburgring, Corvette's Chief Engineer claimed the ZR1 will beat the track record for production cars at any road course in the world. We have since learned that Team Corvette is expecting a lap time of "seven minutes, twenty-something seconds."
The Supercharged 650 hp Corvette ZR1 made a surprise visit to Laguna Seca in Monterey today, completing a couple of hot laps with Corvette Racing's Johnny O'Connell behind the wheel.
The much-hyped Corvette ZR1 with its supercharged 650 hp LS9 engine did two hot laps around the track at Monterey's Laguna Seca before heading back to the pits. An American LeMans series cameraman captured the action.
