The Fireblade concept was designed by independent stylist Idries Noah, and is meant to be a sharp new set of clothing for the already terrifying Corvette ZR1. Like the ZR1, the Fireblade finds a way to prominently display Chevy’s mighty 6.1-liter supercharged V-8 LS9 motor, this time under a broad piece of creased glass.
This 1970 LT-1 ZR-1 Corvette Coupe sold for $102,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction in March 2008. The ZR-1 package inluded a 350 ci 370 LT-1 V8.
In what could only be described (and is being marketed) as the opening salvo in the new muscle car wars, the first 2009 Corvette ZR1 will be offered up for sale at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction held mid-January in Scottsdale, Arizona. The new King of the Hill will join the Dodge Challenger SRT8 and the Ford Shelby GT500KR on the block as the big three auction off the cars for various charities.

The Supercharged 650 hp Corvette ZR1 made a surprise visit to Laguna Seca in Monterey today, completing a couple of hot laps with Corvette Racing's Johnny O'Connell behind the wheel.
The much-hyped Corvette ZR1 with its supercharged 650 hp LS9 engine did two hot laps around the track at Monterey's Laguna Seca before heading back to the pits. An American LeMans series cameraman captured the action.
Over the last couple of months, GM has filed trademark extensions for the term ZR-1, the option code for Corvettes built from 1990-1995 with the 32-valve DOHC LT-5 engine. The trademark extensions cover use of the term for "Motor Land Vehicles, namely automobiles" and use for merchandise and accessories related to the ZR-1 Corvette.
