One of the most dominating Corvettes in auto racing history was sold over the weekend at Gooding & Company's Pebble Beach Auction for an astounding $1.485 million. Grady Davis' Gulf Oil Racing Team purchased the Corvette in 1962 from Yenko Chevrolet. In 14 races, the Gulf Oil '62 Corvette finished first in class 12 times including wins at Daytona and Sebring and captured the 1962 A-Production Championship.

Academy Award winner and salad dressing king Paul Newman shares a passion for speed and despite being 82 years old, is still actively competing in SCCA sanctioned auto racing.This weekend Newman will be competing at the 60th Annual Glen Nationals at Watkins Glen International.

Lawson Aschenbach, of Gaithersburg, Md., captured his first career SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT Championship win today at the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
