Porsche will again contest the Transsyberia Rally this year with their 2008 Porsche Cayenne S Transsyberia Photos model which they optimized the small series in several areas. Primary modifications were better off-road capabilities and suspension.

Belgian Tuner Futureworld worked with Porsche to develop 10 Porsche 911 GT3 rally cars that will be taking part in the German Rally Championship. With a price tag of 125,000 Euro, the Porsche 911 GT3 rally car is powered by a 3.6 liter 6-cylinder engine that produces 381 horsepower. That is 95 more than the Evo and 81 more than the WRX.
Trunkmonkey Racing has been hard at work preparing the Trunkmonkey Pink Impreza for Maine Forest Rally 2006, Round 5 of the Rally America National Championship. Australian motor racing great Peter Brock has been killed in an accident in the Targa Rally in Western Australia.
The 61-year-old died when his car crashed into a tree during the race. His co-driver was taken to hospital in a stable condition. Brock rose to fame after winning the Bathurst 1000, Australia's premier domestic touring car event, a record nine times during the 1970s and 80s.
New England-based motorsports team Trunkmonkey Racing successfully completed Maine Forest Rally 2006 which hosts River Valley Rally and Bethel Rally of the Rally America Eastern Regional Championship. Competing in Production GT class, driver Sean Sosik-Hamor and co-driver Andrew Hobgood piloted the 762 PGT Trunkmonkey Pink Impreza to take 3rd in class at River Valley Rally and 2nd in class at Bethel Rally over the two days of competition and 78 miles of Special Stages.
Like most young, cocky guys, Sean Sosik-Hamor fancied himself a superior driver, until he began competing in autocross racing events, maneuvering his car though a mile-long series of cones at speeds reaching more than 100 mph.
