Porsche engineers were out in full gear, with a parade of at least 5 prototypes,giving photographers more chances to take pictures of the Porsche Panamera. The entry-level powerplant will be Volkswagen’s 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine with 300 bhp, while Porsche’s own drivetrain will be a direct-injection eight-cylinder petrol engine, available in naturally-aspirated guise (350 bhp) and with twin-turbo (560 bhp).
The Porsche Panamera and their test driving Engineers are back at it as spy photographers found a group testing them in ripping around Spain. Porsche seems to be putting the final touches on the Panamera as they prepare the sedan for a March 2009 launch.
Seems like the ugly and the uglier (according to many auto-bloggers) were playing some ring around the rosy or catch the leader recently as both black sheep models were photographed running the Nurburgring together!
The 2010 Porsche Panamera sedan is currently undergoing extreme cold weather testing in the Arctic circle to ensure the Porsche’s engine will still purr like a German kitty even during Canada’s most wicked winter mornings.
Autospies is reporting that the engine for the upcoming Porsche Panamera is testing on the Nurburgring, but protected from prying eyes by using a completely different test mule. An M5 sure is unusual.
The front-engine, rear-wheel drive, four-seater has been caught testing in a variety of guises, this, however, is the first time we've actually been given a taste of what the production car will look like. The front end screams Porsche design, with headlamps pulled straight from the concept and a front clip that is taking heavy cues from the Turbo and Cayman. Unfortunately, from the a-pillar on back, it's less noteworthy and more, well, unfinished.
With the much anticipated Panamera performance saloon, Porsche plants in Germany are making new additions and refurbishments. The Panamera model series will be launched in the market in 2009.
Porsche goes even further on their "green" path. After the 2009 Porsche Cayenne hybrid Autobuild.de talks about a hybrid Panamera also scheduled for 2009.
According to Autozeitung.de we might be seeing, in the following years, a Porsche Panamera Coupe on our streets. In 2003, Porsche's own Dr. Wendelin Wiedeking said that in the following years Porsche will build a 2+2 coupe. Since then nothing else was said about the matter, until a few months ago when spy photos of the Porsche Panamera started surfacing all over the place. The Panamera that stars in those photos is a four-door vehicle.
Rumor has it that the Panamera could be built soon, with a launch early next year. The Panamera is Porsche\222s response to the Mercedes-Benz CLS 55 AMG and Maserati Quattroporte and the Aston Martin Rapide. The Panamera\222s name is derived from the Carrera Panamericana race like the Porsche Carrera.
Not that an average Porsche owner is tight on money to buy an extra gallon of gas, it's just a kind of statement, you know. Go green, be patriotic and all this stuff.
