The 15th running of the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard is Sunday and the Corvette Z06 was selected for the 4th consecutive year. This year's Allstate 400 Pace Car Corvette features a design that can only be described as an ear of corn: the yellow hood and the green stalks grace the sides against a Lemans Blue base.
With little fanfare, a specially-outfitted Corvette was unveiled as the 2007 Daytona 500 Pace Car. The Corvette features the Daytona 500 logo on the side and is highlighted by red, white and blue side accents. A red Chevrolet bowtie is presented on the hood. The unveiling was earlier this month as part of NASCAR's Jackson Hewitt Preseason Thunder Fan Fest.
While temperatures hovered in the single digits outside the Chicago Auto Show, inside things were heating up over at the Chevrolet display as the two new special edition Corvettes were unveiled to members of the media.
For the ninth time in its history including the last 4 years in row, Corvette will serve as the official Pace Car of the Indianapolis 500. To celebrate this momentous occasion, Chevrolet will be producing 500 special-edition replicas for sale to the public. This will be the first time since 1998 that Chevrolet has produced a replica Indy 500 Pace Cars.
