The largest gift in the history of the National Corvette Museum came this week from Wisconsin couple Ivan and Mary Shrodt. The $1.3 million dollar donation will be used for the planned 50,000 square foot expansion of the Museum that is expected to be completed by the summer of 2009.
Although of little consequence to my American readers, those of you residing in the U.K will be pleased to hear that DaimlerChrysler will be officially opening the doors to its new Mercedes-Benz World complex on Sunday, October 29th, offering visitors to the complex a wealth of Mercedes-related activities and exhibits.
The National Corvette Museum announced the 2007 inductees to the Corvette Hall of Fame, the highest honor given to those people for their contributions for preserving the past, present and future of Corvette.
The National Corvette Museum unveiled their 50,000 square foot expansion plans at the annual membership meeting over Labor Day Weekend. The expansion includes a library and archives, a cafe, conference center and additional space for the Delivery program. BMW AG is planning on redoing its corporate museum in Munich, dramatically increasing the interior space and improving the presentation of the vehicles and exhibits. Looks a little Guggenheim-esque.
