Taking on BMW\342\200\231s up-coming M3 and Mercedes\342\200\231 future C 63 AMG, the new IS 500 is certainly appreciated by sport-saloon fanatics. We haven't seen or heard much about it lately, but it appears as though the V8-powered Lexus IS 500 is still an ongoing project. This prototype spotted on the N\303\274rburgring is clearly no ordinary IS 350 given its deep front air dam, extra large boot lid spoiler and two pairs of exhaust pipes.
Hot in the wheeltracks of the storming IS F comes another new Lexus, the IS 250 SR. This sporty addition to the IS range expresses its performance credentials with a full body kit and 17-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels on the outside.
Lexus has introduced a new “F” designated IS model. “F” branded Lexus cars will be the sporty vehicles aimed squarely at the BMW “M”, Mercedes “AMG” and Audi “R” and “RS”.

Lexus today unveiled the IS-F luxury sedan at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The all-new 2008 IS-F will target the BMW M3 and Audi RS4, delivering more than 400 horsepower and 350 ft.-lbs. of torque from a 5.0-liter V8 engine. It will eventually be offered as a two-door coupe, as well.
