Reports that the weather has been warm and dry over the previous days has brought out Team Corvette and their supercharged 638 hp Corvette ZR1, this time dressed in red. Eyewitnesses speculate that GM may have been looking for a lap time as he "spotted a helicopter chasing something that sounded very V8 and awfully supercharged..."

It's been a while since we used the word "Spied" and "ZR1" in a headline, but that is exactly what was caught on the Nordschleife portion of the Nürburgring in Germany last week. BridgeToGantry.com photographed the Blue Devil sporting a most interesting exterior color as it put its 620 horses to ground on one of the most famous road courses in the world.

Last month as the Corvette ZR1 was making tracks around the Nürburgring, Corvette's Chief Engineer claimed the ZR1 will beat the track record for production cars at any road course in the world. We have since learned that Team Corvette is expecting a lap time of "seven minutes, twenty-something seconds."
