Autoweek says it's just the base Lancer in this spy photo, but it could be a sign of things to come. They think that if you squint hard enough, you can imagine the Evo X being one helluva car.
It's still just a concept car, but the Evo X formally made its introduction. As a show car, it's still has very rough interior, but the design elements are all there. Autoblog took some photos, but the official press release and information are not yet available.
Details are slim right now, but we know that the Evo X will debut in the 2008 Model Year, and is based off the GS Platform also used on the current Dodge Caliber. Rumors are that this iteration of the Evo will feature more than 300 horsepower, and will be put on a diet resulting in a curb weight significantly less than that of the current Evo.
By now we have all seen good spy shots of the Evo X, so rather than get repetitive we scrounged around and came across a video tour of the Evo X prototype. So why look at a car bra when you can take a tour of what effectively amounts to the real thing!
The folks over at Motor Authority have come across the best spy photos to-date of the Mitsubishi Evo-X. As you can see, there is little left to the imagination as the only thing missing in this picture is the usual camouflage.
It has been confirmed that the new Mitsubishi Evo X will be offered with a standard five-speed gearbox and a ‘hard-core’ clutchless paddle shift six-speed.
