Aston Martin's new flagship, the DBS, has hit the Nurburgring for high speed handling tests. The honed DB9, which runs a V12 engine upgraded to 530bhp, makes its debut in the new Bond movie Casino Royale, out this November. The production car will be unveiled at the Detroit auto show in January 2007, with sales due to start in the spring.
The big coupe was spotted in a parking area close to an Autobahn in Germany where it had been undertaking some high speed testing before the model goes on sale in October of this year. Aston Martin released today the details on the Casino Royale star, the Aston Martin DBS. The Aston Martin DBS is powered by a 6.0 liter V12 engine that develops 510 hp at 6500 rpm.

In a single day of filming for the upcoming "Casino Royale" James Bond movie, they destroyed not one, not two, but three Aston Martins valued at $300,000 a piece. And it's not like the nearly one million dollars worth of automotive goodness can be recovered either, because they've smashed them into pieces.
Aston Martin have received over 1,500 orders for their new Aston Martin DBS, effectively tying up the next five years production. Aston is currently building the DBS at the rate of 300 units per annum and unless this changes the DBS is going to be one sought after ‘bespoke’ supercar.
