Yes, the new 2007 Nissan Altima Coupe is the poor man's G35, as long as the financially challenged don't mind moving the coupe's motivating wheels up front. Though given a shorter wheelbase and shorter overall length than 4-door Altima, the Coupe looks like a cross between its sedan sibling and rich cousin, the Infiniti G35. Ahead of the doors it's all Altima, but aft of and including the C-pillar, it's all G35.
Nissan announced the price for its 2008 Altima sedan version. For the 2008 Nissan Altima sedan there are a few options that now come as a standard: Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD).
The new Nissan Altima has even more features, including Nissan's Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission as an option for both the 2.5 and 3.5 liter engines. Also, there's Intelligent Key with push-button starter, integrated Bluetooth, and rearview camera with the touch-screen navigation.
The 2007 Nissan Altima will cost at least two hundred dollars more than the previous model. While the outgoing 2006 Altima started at only $18,365 the 2007 MY Altima with comparable characteristics will set you back at $18,565, shipping included. For the money you'll get 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5 with a manual six-speed transmission as the only choice.
Nissan's CEO Carlos Ghosn says that the hybrids aren't enough of a value proposition to appeal to most customers, so they're only offering it in eight states later this year: California, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Rhode Island, Maine and New Jersey.
