Team Toyo Drift cars from Drift Mania Canadian Championships (DMCC) at Downsview Park in Toronto. These photos were taken on Friday August 15, 2008 during the PRO practice/warmup. This practice ended up being cancelled about 30 minutes in due to a severe thunderstorm which dropped a massive amount of water AND HAIL on the TRACK!
Focus Auto Sales graciously loaned their $120k 1999 R34 Nissan Skyline GTR Vspec in factory Lightning Yellow (one of the rarest R34 GTR colors available) for this test drive. In order for Kerry Ann De La Cruz to properly test drive the 580hp Skyline she had to ditch the heels but unfortunately not the bikini!
Their very own R35 GT-R phantom is a “show and track” car (see videos below), equipped with the best products in all categories. With Powerhouse Amuse tweaks the GT-R’s VR38DETT engine now pumps out 611hp at 6200 rpm.
Arios have been hard at work with their Nissan GT-R after taking delivery at the end of January giving it a custom look that stands out from the crowd.
Zele’s list of carbon parts include a new front bumper, lip spoiler, side skirts, underbody spoiler, air duct, a new grille, front fender ducts and a surge tank cover. Owners can choose between wet and dry carbon products and most pieces cost under a couple g’s.
U.S.-based company COBB Tuning has said that it has cracked the ECU, and is in the process of in-house testing. Along with allowing the untethered GT-R to reach its fully mad top-end of 193 mph (claimed), cracking the Nissan computer should also allow COBB to tinker with fuel-mapping and boost pressure controls.
The prototype example of Nissan’s new GT-R Spec V has been dazzling observers of its Nurburgring testing of late, reportedly turning in lap times of an almost unbelievable 7:25. If correct, those numbers would make the V Spec substantially faster than the ultra hardcore Pagani Zonda F Clubsport, which set a production car record last October with a lap time of just under 7:28.
Do you have a brand new stock Nissan GT-R on order, or maybe just took delivery? Then “Garage Defend” might have just what you need…specialized in Nissan Sportscars (and a couple others), this very professional dealer told Nihon Car about their latest “beast” based on the Almighty R35 GTR.

I find it extremely interesting to compare the sizes and designs between the 5th generation (1999–2002) R34 Skyline GT-R and the new R35 GT-R thanks to these photos from Jalopnik. It’s crazy how much larger the 2008 GT-R is when sized up behind (insert joke) the retired R34 Skyline.
Mines have developed adjustable coil over suspension, a 400mm brake kit, high-flow catalysts and a more freer-flowing titanium exhaust system. This has already seen a 20bhp hike in dyno tests and the firm is busying itself working on the ECU to allow the car to run higher boost levels.
Nissan launched today in Japan the 2008 Nissan Skyline Coupe which is equipped with a 3.7 liter VVEL (Variable Valve Event and Lift) V6 engine that develops 333 hp.

Previously sold only in Japan, the GT-R (Skyline GT-R as it was formerly known) has been an icon to boy racers and aftermarket tuners alike since the R32 appeared in 1989. The upcoming version, which will hit dealer showrooms in late 2007 or early 2008, will be the first model marketed worldwide, thus the first official version available in the U.S.
For those who can’t get enough of a good thing, we’ve procured some additional shots of the Nissan Skyline GT-R test mule doing some hot laps on the Nürburgring , as caught by the snappers over at KGP Photography.
At the New York Auto Show, Nissan quietly announced that the GT-R would be sold as a Nissan rather than an Infiniti (as some had believed). The announcement may have been overshadowed but the launch of the 2007 Infiniti G35, but Infiniti dealers most definitely took notice. According to a report by Automotive News, the Infiniti dealers were incensed by last week\222s news. They \223desperately wanted the GT-R as a halo for the brand,\224 the report said.
