A year after Spyker first announced that the Spyker C8 Laviolette had been chosen for a pivotal role in Basic Instinct 2, driven by the film\222s protagonist Catherine Trammell (Sharon Stone), it is now announcing that it will produce a unique Limited Edition series of the C8 Laviolette as used for this movie. Only 25 cars will be made of which 20 have already been pre-sold.
Dutch sports car company Spyker are in talks to buy the Midland Formula One team, they revealed on Monday. Media mogul Michiel Mol has been negotiating with Midland owner Alex Shnaider for several weeks to buy the team and establish a Dutch entry based around driver Christijan Albers.

The Spyker C8 Spyder GT2R runs the Audi V8 engine used in all road cars. The race version of this engine has been developed in-house by Spyker Squadron’s technical team, headed by Peter van Erp and is mated to a Hewland six speed sequential gearbox.
