Posted by www.eMercedesbenz.com As you may remember, a few weeks back we brought you spy photos of what appears to be either a CL 63 AMG or a CL 65 AMG making its rounds on a testing track at some top-secret German location.
Porsche has apparently upgraded the 3.6 and 3.8-liter engines to direct injection making 345 hp (+20 hp), 390 Nm torque (+20 Nm) and 385 hp (+30 hp), 420 Nm torque (+20 Nm) respectively.
As you can tell it's been a tremendously slow day for Mercedes news, but thankfully our good friend Eric sent us word of a story that finally brings the day's article drought to an end.
A strange, new prototype emerged from GM\222s proving grounds recently, giving spy photogs a jolt of -- recognition. Could the next-generation Impala have shed its awkwardly applied skin in favor of a sleeker, new configuration?
Next-generation 2009 SL-Class. Featuring a CL-esque grille and what one would surmise to be updated headlights, the vehicle in question is clearly a new SL; in our modest opinion, however, it's not the next-generation SL. Instead, we're theorizing that it is one of two things:
It\222s almost two years since the first prototypes started showing up. The new model, reportedly for 2007, will reportedly be the upcoming Crossgolf, which has heretofore only been seen in test-mule form sporting whacked-up bodies derived from the current Golf, causing mass confusion among the undercaffinated auto-blogging set.
Checkout these spy photos of the most likely early Porsche 911 998 test mule. The Porsche911 998 model is planned for delivery on 2011 so it’s still in it’s early development stage. These photos show extended wheel arches, indicating that the Porsche 998 will most likely have a wider track and potentially be bigger than the current Porsche 911 997.
Porsche engineers were out in full gear, with a parade of at least 5 prototypes, giving photographers more chances to take pictures of the Porsche Panamera. The entry-level powerplant will be Volkswagen’s 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine with 300 bhp, while Porsche’s own drivetrain will be a direct-injection eight-cylinder petrol engine, available in naturally-aspirated guise (350 bhp) and with twin-turbo (560 bhp).
Wearing Ludwigsburg license plates, which indicates an official Porsche AG car, BTG spotted this Porsche Cayman doing some hot laps. What was interesting was not it’s appearance but rather its sound. BTG photographer gives an account of hearing the distinct sound of a turbo engine as this Cayman flew past.
