've always been a sucker for $250,000+ supercars. Models tested include the Mercedes SLR McLaren, the Lamborghini LP 460, the Saleen S7 and the Ruf Rt 12, and surprisingly, the Ruf outperforms its competitors on a number of levels. Here's a few highlights:
Typically Saleens numbered 10 and below are reserved for family, friends, and promotional vehicles, but even so, it;s impressive that Molly was able to swing the coveted number 1 serial number (naturally Daddy’s little girl gets #1) on the 2007 Saleen Mustang S281. It’s also a Saleen tradition that Mustang number 6 is skipped. That was started decades ago when that number was accidentally overlooked and not built.
Along with an all aluminum chassis, composite body panels, you get a supercharged ethanol burning 5.0L V8, 650hp, 630 lb ft, 6 speed manual, 6 piston front brakes with 15″ rotors, 20″ rims (275 front, 315 rears), 0-60 in 3.2 sec, and a top speed in excess of 200 mph. Production is to start in 2010.

Steve Saleen recently retired from Saleen Inc. before creating a new company SMS Limited. To celebrate a quarter of a century in the business Steve Saleen has created the 25th anniversary Mustang Concept firing out a power output of 720hp and 670ft lbs.
Dan Gurney said that he only had one request before agreeing to endorse a special-edition Saleen Mustang designed in his honor: it had to be “faster than Parnelli’s.” Saleen was happy to comply, and the Dan Gurney Signature Edition was born. Like the Parnelli Jones Signature limited edition, the Dan Gurney Signature Edition Mustang features graphics inspired by classic Trans Am race series cars, an extremely limited production run and of course some serious performance parts.
The Mustang Dark Horse Exteme by Saleen is an extreme Mustang with a couple modded features including a new Speedlab SuperShaker. The Dark Horse will sit your ass back in the seat with its 620 horsepower and 600 ft-lbs of torque produced by the Saleen Port Matched Series VI Integrated Screw type supercharger.
