The king of the luxury 4WDs will go on a diet for it’s next generation, but it’s a diet plan that will take 15 years. A new lighter Range Rover is being proposed by Land Rover engineers for the 2012 model year, using stablemate Jaguar’s rivet-bonded aluminium monocoque chassis technology.

The Range Rover SUV is not only of the most important models for rappers all over the world, but it’s also crucial for Land Rover as most of its other vehicles are based on the same basic design of the Range Rover. Models like the Range Rover Sport, Discovery, Freelander and Defender all share their technology and design with the Range Rover, so as you can expect engineers have a lot of pressure resting on the shoulders when it comes to designing the latest model.
Following the huge success of the Range Rover Sport in the U.S. market, Land Rover North America is delighted to announce that a special version known as the LE will go on sale immediately.
Although 50 per cent more expensive, the TDV8 will deliver only 40 per cent more power and torque than the smaller Range Rover Sport, so I guess there is no linear correlation between gaining in price and gaining in power.
The HAMANN Range Rover Sport Conqueror is the result of the meeting between classic English design and German styling. The German tuning company HAMANN also improved on the Range Rover's performance and upgraded the power output to 475 hp and 610 Nm of torque.
