The new GTI is packing a revised 2.0-liter TFSI four putting out 210 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque through either a six-speed manual or DSG gearbox and on to the front wheels through a new electronic limited-slip differential (XDS).

The entry level consists of a reprogrammed engine control unit which results in an additional 15kw/20hp and 25 Nm of torque. Just in case you don’t already have the M3’s figures etched into your frontal lobe, the S65 4.0litre V8 makes 414 hp (420 PS, 309 kW) and 295 ft-lbs (400 Nm) of torque. Top speed increases to 300 km/h.
