You've read the reviews. You've seen the photos. By now, it's obvious that the Mercedes CL63 AMG is without question one of and quite possibly the most beautiful Mercedes in the current lineup.
Posted by www.eMercedesbenz.com As you may remember, a few weeks back we brought you spy photos of what appears to be either a CL 63 AMG or a CL 65 AMG making its rounds on a testing track at some top-secret German location.
While going through our inbox this early afternoon, we received an email from an astute reader by the name of Ken directing us to a recent review conducted by Jeremy Clarkson that provides another look as to what to expect from the newly-introduced Mercedes E63 AMG.
As you can tell it's been a tremendously slow day for Mercedes news, but thankfully our good friend Eric sent us word of a story that finally brings the day's article drought to an end.
How the lucky British bastards over at Car magazine got their hands on the new Mercedes CL63 AMG less than a week after its official debut is beyond me, but somehow, they managed to do it. To celebrate their good fortune, they've graciously published an article detailing the experience, and from their initial impressions, it sounds like the CL63 has indeed managed to live up to our early presumption that's it's going to be one hell of a ride.
Originally published by Wheels magazine, the review provides Australians (and anyone else considering the three aforementioned models) with a well-written look at how each of the three perform while undergoing various testing rounds, with the reviewer eventually giving praise to both the Mercedes and the Holden. A small excerpt from the review:
For all my Canadian readers wondering whether or not the ML320 CDI is worth making the switch to diesel, Auto123.com recently spent a week with the new model, sharing their insight as to how the CDI model stacks up against its non-diesel counterparts.
As if we hadn't had our fill of Mercedes CL63 AMG reviews over the past two weeks, Fifth Gear recently took a moment to deliver what turns out to be a futile attempt at analyzing the new model, ultimately stating nothing more than their own assesments as to the current state of AMG.
It's no secret we hear at eMercedesBenz are fans of the new Mercedes S550's spectacular design, but is it possible to improve on what has become the world's preeminently-styled luxury sedan?
The Mercedes New York Auto Show premiers just keep on coming, with Mercedes-Benz USA announcing today that two new models - the GL550 and the ML550 - will both be entering the U.S. market. Both models will be powered by the 5.5-Liter V8 found in the rest of the 550 family, and both will feature numerous options as standard equipment.
While going through our inbox this afternoon, a reader by the name of Michael tipped us off to what are reportedly the first photos of the upcoming 2008 Mercedes C-Class. The photos, which depict both the front and rear of the vehicle, show the C-Class with zero masking; naked, in all its splendid glory.
The first official photographs of what is an undeniably-beautiful vehicle - the 2007 Mercedes CL-Class equipped with an AMG sport package. The wheels... the front apron... the side skirts... they're all so... ravishing. Posted by www.eMercedesBenz.com
In a recent study conducted by an unnamed driver, it's been discovered that water, when placed on a driving surface at temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, actually decreases the amount of traction a vehicle is able to maintain when traveling on said surface.
Next-generation 2009 SL-Class. Featuring a CL-esque grille and what one would surmise to be updated headlights, the vehicle in question is clearly a new SL; in our modest opinion, however, it's not the next-generation SL. Instead, we're theorizing that it is one of two things:
As you'd expect from a wide body kit, the main highlights include new front and rear aprons, widened fenders in both the front and back, new side skirts, a roof and trunk spoiler and a new vented hood. Another notable change is the presence of the always popular 20-inch wheels with performance tires, while a new stainless exhaust system completes Vitt's CL package.
In the newest round of corporate executive shuffling news, DaimlerChrysler has announced today that they have appointed Klaus Maier, current vice-president of the Mercedes Car Group and director of development for the company's worldwide sales organization, the new president and chief executive of Mercedes-Benz (China) Ltd.
Created by AI Design for DC Shoes co-founder Ken Block, the custom-tuned CLS features a matte-black paint finish; a Brabus K8 tuning package outputting an impressive 575 horsepower; a full Brabus aerodynamics body package
During recent high speed testing, the Brabus Rocket, whose superbly-tuned V12 produces a maximum power output of 730 hp / 537 kW and an electronically limited peak torque of 1,100 Nm at 2,100 RPM, registered a maximum velocity of... are you ready for this... 225.19 miles per hour.
That vehicle is the Kicherer SL Evo, the two-toned Brabus-enhanced Mercedes pictured before you. Based on the SL600, the Kicherer SL Evo features, among other things, a carbon fiber hood, numerous carbon fiber accents, 20" RS1 aluminum rims, a sport steering wheel
Mercedes has published details of a car we've told you about on several ocassions; a car considered by most to be the pinnacle of luxury coupes; and now, a car sure to garnish both praise and disdain among its various onlookers.
Any time an automotive review begins with the following statements: "It's not easy to compare the 2007 BMW M6 Convertible and the 2007 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG. The whole idea teeters on the brink of the ridiculous...", you know you're about to read an an article that consistently attempts to convince you that despite the aforementioned warning, it somehow isn't ridiculous.
've always been a sucker for $250,000+ supercars. Models tested include the Mercedes SLR McLaren, the Lamborghini LP 460, the Saleen S7 and the Ruf Rt 12, and surprisingly, the Ruf outperforms its competitors on a number of levels. Here's a few highlights:
Ai Design began by upgrading the heart of the CLS 55 using Brabus K8 engine tuning components yielding 575 horsepower. The CLS 55 breathes easily through Brabus twintip sport exhaust mufflers that peek out from behind a tailor-made Brabus rear bumper diffuser
Although the new CL-Class hasn't hit dealerships yet, Wald International has already released the first glimpse into what their Executive tuning package for the W216 Mercedes CL will look like.
